Green Diesel Engineering, formed in early 2009, was established to fill a void left in the diesel performance market by add-on boxes or roughly-developed programmers that don’t truly take advantage of the performance and economy potential offered by diesel power systems.

Diesel engines can offer fantastic fuel economy when tuned for lowest brake specific fuel consumption and coupled with proper transmission tuning for gear and lock-up.
Our Experience

Comprised of a team with numerous years experience working in the diesel calibration field, Green Diesel Engineering believes that a diesel engine doesn’t have to emit billowing clouds of smoky exhaust or rattle like an antiquated tractor to be fast or economical. Our philosophy is that to properly optimize an engine to provide the highest power density and best fuel economy, one cannot simply install bigger injectors and raise the boost pressure – the calibration must be re-optimized from the core. With newer engines having more and more new after-treatment technologies, it is more important to be cognizant of how the engine interacts with them to provide an overall package that is both exciting to drive and still environmentally friendly to the world around.

Our Strategy

Our core strategy is to determine the overall power-torque curve to meet the performance requirements, and from that point begin optimizing the calibration as a whole (injection timing, number/quantity of pilot injections, post injection, boost pressure set point) to provide the highest fuel economy and performance. In most cases, a large performance gain can be realized from just a calibration alone without the need to spend endless dollars on additional components.

Transmission calibration has a large effect on the feel of the vehicle (connected, response) when driven.  Optimizing the off-going and on-coming clutch rates can improve shift speeds and 0-60 mph performance.  Lock-up scheduling helps reduce trans fluid temps and aids in towing capability with less shift hunting.

Engineered Solutions

However, for those who can’t have enough power, we can also provide component & calibration packages that are optimized together to provide the best possible scenario. Using only the finest components as used by OEM applications, we provide engineered solutions to accommodate after-market components that allow for not only better performance but will be durable for everyday usage. Additionally, the ECU calibration is completely reworked as a whole to not only interact to the fullest capability with the new components but also be able to properly diagnose any issue with it that may possibly arise and communicate the correct fault information.
