  • New ECMs from Mopar are blank: there is no software flashed inside and these ECMs are not capable to run the engine/vehicle as-is. They must be configured first.
  • If mailing in an ECM for tuning that is blank or not the original from your vehicle, a $150 setup fee applies to have the necessary steps performed before tuning can be done
  • Blank ECMs or one not from your vehicle returned for the core deposit will be assessed the same $150 setup fee

Ecodiesel customers opting for the exchange program must return the stock ecm from customer vehicle within 21 days in order to receive the full core deposit refund. After that, the core return value is decreased by $50 per week starting from day 22 after the delivery date.

Just got the tune, drove from Ontario to meet the team in person. On my drive to GDE, I left Ontario with a reading of 9.4% soot in my DPF and just before arriving at GDE I was at around 68% soot in the DPF, I had a regen after about 400km of highway driving. So starting fresh again, on my drive home, after the tune, I drove 400km home and was only at 30% soot in the DPF when I arrived home, which was a lot lower then on my drive there before the tune. The tune reduced the REGEN cycles and and soot production by a lot! For fuel economy, on my drive there, my fuel economy was 9.0L/100 km. On the way home, my trip average was 7.2L/100 km by the time I got home. For performance, the take off lag is gone, it's nice to have some power when I take off without sucking up so much fuel! Love the tune, well worth it! Thanks GDE!

I've been using the hot tune for a little over a month now and am sold. At its best I've gotten 32 mpg (390 mile trip of mountain highways in Colorado) and at its worst I'm seeing 25 mpg when I take it into the city. What I wasn't expecting was how much more responsive the truck is on accelerating. No more scared moments pulling out of parking lots as the turbo lag is all but removed. I got this for the EGR benefits but have been pleasantly surprised at what other benefits have come along with it. I believe I will get the transmission tune in the future due to my happiness with this.

Curious why first review got deleted, strange how that could just happen...anyways to sum it all up I installed this ECM approaching a few years ago now and did NOT get any benefit out of this ECM aside from the more aggressive tow mode that costs extra for what, setting different shift points? I did not experience any increase in fuel or DEF economy, no decrease in lag and no increase in performance or acceleration. After several months of having it installed, I reached out to GDE not for a refund, but for some basic customer support. I was reporting a problem with my product and their reply was "if the cruise sets below 20 the tune is set", and that was it. No consideration given whatsoever for someone that spent nearly a grand on their product that is not experiencing the same results as so many others report. Great customer service GDE. They did offer a 50% refund that I didn't ask for to return to stock, I opted against that. Disappointing product, even more disappointing customer service.

Night and day difference. Did the hot tune with trans tune today guys were great and answered any questions or concerns. Went immediately from 8.5/9 L/100km to 7.0-7.5 L/100km. 950-1000km to 1150-1250km max range per tank. Stock truck with nothing added tune done at 2500km. Timing and power is way better worth every penny so far 250km added no complaints.

Where to start? I just want to say that I have very little experience with working with vehicles besides oil changes, brake changes, tire rotation, etc.. I would say getting to the ECM was a breeze. I did run into a problem trying to get the bottom bolts off of the ECM housing. With help from a flexible extension I was able to get it off. Overall I would say the process was very easy. I have been nothing but impressed with the GDE Hot Tune. I can't wait until next paycheck to purchase the Transmission tune as well. The thing I am most impressed with is the Customer Service. Within two days of emailing back and forth, they were able to answer all of my questions. I am a very cautious person when it comes to installing new things on my truck and they reassured me that with the instructions everything would turn out great. They were right. I didn't think I would enjoy driving my ecodiesel anymore than I have before the Hot Tune. But now it is by far my best investment for this vehicle. I have notice a huge difference in response as well as how my vehicle starts up. It does offer a little more punch and makes it a whole lot easier to throw some gravel around on initial acceleration. It has been an amazing investment thus far. I do have a 4.5 inch lift kit on the truck and this tune has helped the MPG tremendously. It has gotten it back to where it was before I installed the lift kit and put bigger tires on. GDE will always have me a customer!!

2014 Ram with 150k on the tiller. EGR valve malfunctioning and EGR cooler leaking. Dealer wanted nearly $5k to fix both. Ordered the $750 Hot Tune from GDE and the $120 full EGR delete from eBay. No more check engine lights. No more EGR BS. No more disappearing engine coolant. Great improvement in performance across the board - this is how the truck should have been from the factory. Makes you remember why diesel is so awesome. Went from averaging 20.1mpg to 24.2mpg average fuel mileage. That’s $700 per year in fuel savings for me at 30k miles per year. And I saved $4k on the repair... Don’t wait. Do it.
