GDE had done it again! The difference is night & day on how the truck drives. It doesn't down shift nearly as often, shifts quickly through the gears, & customer service is EXCELLENT! Combine this with the hot tune & you have a completely different trick!

So far it is day and night difference in how it shifts/feels. I honestly have to relearn how to drive the truck, which is a great thing. Goes amazingly with the HOT tune as well. The process is really simple, even though the touch sensor tested my nerves, but the tip of a Pen fixed that. The instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. The turn around time was less than 12 hours (I was very shocked to see the new file when I woke up for work). I really enjoy working and talking with GDE and their products are "Second to None!". Great Company and even better products!!

Installed this a couple days ago. Night and day difference in city driving: handling, acceleration and over all pedal sensitivity. I like it. The tool that comes with the software seems handy as well. Would be awesome if all GDE future updates (even Engine tunes) were this conveniently installed. GDE: Keep up the good work. I love my truck even more because of it.

I gave this 4 stars and almost three stars because mostly the tow Haul mode is something like really, I will tell you there is no tow haul on any other pickup like this I drive a 52 ton dump truck for a living so I have a good idea about pulling things I do not like the tow Haul mode period sorry. If you like running your engine like that fine I don't, The rest they did is a improvement, worth it I guess.

Living in a hilly area the stock truck would need to downshift in order to travel along the road from home to town. Annoying to have a turbo diesel truck, without any load, needing to downshift for a hill. Now after the transmission tune, the truck has no problem holding top gear. Though if I press down on the go pedal, the trans will downshift for better acceleration. Shifting feels quicker between gears and happens sooner in the rpm range. Slightly stronger engagement feel, but no rough. This was my first alteration to the truck and I am glad I did.

If you do not want to read everything below the review can be summed as GDE has brought another exceptional tuning product to the market, and even at what one might consider a steep price, is absolutely worth every penny. I wanted to wait until I had an appropriate amount of seat time in the vehicle before writing this review. It's been approximately four or five days now since I installed the tune, and I have to say I'm quite impressed. The brilliance of these individuals to revise the shifting strategies and intuitiveness of the transmission is absolutely impeccable. One of my largest annoyances with the truck was the fact that accelerating on flat surfaces, uphill, etc. would constantly leave me in frustration due to the vehicle wanting to hold gear up to an excessive 3K RPM!!! The truck would feel like it was struggling after exceeding 2K RPM, and would pretty much piss off everyone behind me due to poor acceleration and getting up to speed... God I don't even want to begin explaining my woes with turning onto highway traffic (not interstate). I'm by no means an aggressive driver, but the stock shifting strategy did not properly comprehend how to perform at its optimal efficiency largely due to the fact the Hot Tune cannot be taken advantage of as well by software that was never intended to do so. This tune cures all of these ailments, and has left me smiling since it was installed. It was quite a shift though at first as I was immensely use to the extremely soft transitions between shift due to slippage, but now I can actually feel the shifting response from the transmission due to heightened pressures and reduced slippage periods. Also note that the 2-1 downshift is practically cured, but there is no correction to be made for the turbo spooling down when de-accelerating. This causes a bit of a hesitation, but nothing near what it use to as the majority of the problem stemmed from the transmission not correctly handling itself. Hats off to the team at GDE again as they continue to bring superb products to the market that truly optimize this platform to its upmost capability!
