Follow up after 2+ months running the GDE tune: Prior to loading the GDE tune, MPG average displayed on car’s instrument panel was 36.4 MPG for our normal routine driving averaged over 6500 miles. I zeroed out the car’s trip averages when loading the GDE tune. After for 2+ months driving our normal routine on the GDE tune, the car’s instrument panel indicates 43.6 MPG average over 7200 miles. We have had no problems at all with the GDE tune. If our other car had a VD 2.0 TDI, we’d be upgrading it as well.

Here's my feedback on the GDE VW CBEA-CJAA 2.0L Tune after running it 2 days: In preparation for loading the GDE tune, I took a 124 mile drive to document stock tune fuel economy immediately prior. Filled up to the cap just before getting on the northbound freeway and drove on cruise control at limits (65/75) with A/C off, U-turning about an hour later and refilling to the fuel cap immediately upon exiting the freeway where the test started. Uphill/downhill & headwind/tailwind should be cancelled out since reversing the same route on return. Car said average speed was 71 mph. Weather was foggy & 68°F to start with warming up to clear & 75° upon return. Distance was 124.1 miles and the fuel tank took 3.080 gallons = 40.292 mpg. I went home and loaded the GDE tune and topped off again just before entering the freeway. I noticed that the car said range was 635 miles. Range has never indicated above 540 before on fuel tank. I then repeated the trip exactly except that weather continued warming to 85°F by the time I was refilling after the 124.1 mile drive. At end of drive, car said 70 mph average speed on this one. Fuel tank took 2.620 gallons = 47.366 mpg, a 7.074 mpg improvement! Traffic was light on my MPG test drive, so I had no need for aggressive acceleration; however, I believe that I achieved my "normal" acceleration away from stop signs & lights and merging into freeways at lighter throttle position than before. Driving our normal routine, it is immediately noticeable that the previous delay between a step-change in accelerator position and the power setting change finally making it to the flywheel is gone. Advancing the throttle now results in immediate response from the engine. Also noticeable below 45 mph is that the engine pulls stronger and at a lower RPM (higher gear) than before. We have one daily route requiring heavy acceleration while maneuvering across 3 freeway feeder lanes in about 250 yds to enter the freeway access ramp. This usually required WOT previously, but this morning acceleration felt stronger at only about 75-80% accelerator position. I wish I had loaded the GDE tune 160,000 miles ago!!
