  • Fuel Economy improvements 3-5mpg.
  • DEF tank refill interval always aligned with the oil change interval.
  • Very broad torque/performance curve for better drivability.
  • Combustion changes to give best fuel efficiency and lowest soot.
  • For more contents of the GDE Tune visit the EcoDiesel Performance Data page

Please also be informed that:
  • New ECMs from Mopar are blank: there is no software flashed inside and these ECMs are not capable to run the engine/vehicle as-is. They must be configured first.
  • If mailing in an ECM for tuning that is blank or not the original from your vehicle, a $150 setup fee applies to have the necessary steps performed before tuning can be done
  • Blank ECMs or one not from your vehicle returned for the core deposit will be assessed the same $150 setup fee

Well worth the investment. I’ve had the Hot Tune almost a month and what a difference. Turbo lag all but gone, average mpg mixed city/hwy is up almost 3 mpg. Towing is almost a night and day difference based on the Hot Tune adjustments. Do yourself a favor and spend the money. These guys have the ecodiesels figured out and you’ll be much happier with your truck overall.

I would recommend this tune for any ecodiesel. It eliminated most of the turbo lag, and fuel economy is up. The truck drives a lot nicer. The power increase is noticeable but not like a EFI live tune on a duramax or equivalent -This should be obvious that this is not the goal for this tune or this engine. I pulled my egr which was completely covered, I pulled my map sensor which was plugged aswell. This should be eliminated now. I will recheck in 15,000 miles. GDE did a great job!! thanks Joe

Have had the tune now for a few weeks, and am seeing improvements in MPG, in turbo lag, and am impressed with how it tows my camper. Still not gonna win any races, didn't buy the truck to be fast and didn't get the tune for that purpose either, if you are looking for that, you might want to look elsewhere. I had previously purchased the tune for my wife's 07 ML320 CDI and we were pleased with the improvements there as well. I can't wait for the transmission tune for my EcoDiesel!!!

Okay, so I'm not entirely impressed with the other reviews, and want to give something a little more realistic and honest. I'm still going to rate the tune to five stars because GDE has optimized the efficiency of the engine to its absolute maximum without having to heavily invest or modify other components. The turbocharger lag improved, acceleration has improved, etc. as others have proclaimed, but this tune will not turn this truck into a beast. I typically haul a Maverick X3 and 16' tandem axle utility trailer weighing in at approximately 3200 lbs (still need to get a more precise number but acclaimed dry weights should be sufficient). I tend to go up to our mountain that is just a few miles away, and this was the first test. Prior to tuning I experienced the temperature gauge rise almost up to 3/4 quarters initially with the factory tune, while the GDE tune barely lifted above normal operating temperatures. I don't remember temps prior to GDE's tune (had for almost a year), but current temps are far below what the RAM originally experienced making the same climb. This truck will still easily lose to any F150 Ecoboost around me... I've tried, and will also lose to most V8 gasoline engines half-ton trucks as well. However, timing 0-60 from stock @ 9.4 seconds to 8.1 with GDE was almost unfathomable of a leap in performance. I do have the 3.55 rear end which has been a bane of this truck's existence, but seeing as how I don't tow high enough weight to be concerned the ratio is sufficient for my daily needs. The vehicle has shown considerable improvements in economy BUT ONLY IF I STAY OUT OF THE THROTTLE. Yes, that means driving like your grandfather's grandfather, but you will reap the benefits in fuel economy should you behave your childish behavior and need for swift acceleration. Overall the truck feels stronger, more capable, and a far more pleasure to drive, but do take the other reviews with a grain of salt. This does not turn into a beast nor will it magically possess the capability to haul 15K lbs of weight on a gooseneck without breaking a sweat... efficiency is GDE's specialty, and to be able to know that everything is operating within OEM tolerances/specifications makes it that much better. The heightened power curve along with increased fuel economy is just icing on the cake, metaphorically speaking. Would I recommend this tune to a stranger or friend, absolutely! Was it worth the $800??? As long as it continues to behave the way it has then yes I believe so. Itching to try the turbo brake functionality on the next update reorder as descending with these little diesels is not an easy task.

Don't know what the issue is but I did not experience any of the positives that so many other reviewers and forums talk about. I have over 1 year on my hot tune ECM on my 14 Ram. I have not seen any gains in fuel economy, DEF economy, or "seat of the pants" power. The only thing I like about it is that tow/haul mode is more aggressive on downshifts, don't know why that shift point adjustment costs $50. I hope that my EGR valve is actually deactivated with this ECM. The company offers no support other than "if your cruise control sets at 15 MPH then the tune is present". I'm not a programmer or a tuner but it seems to me that SOMETHING has to be off with my ECM. I don't know why so many other people have such glowing reviews and I didn't experience any of that. They did offer a partial refund and detuning to factory. Not interested. Not impressed. Sucks. $800 wasted.
